6:30AM - all day - Caught early morning flight to attend AMCC conference. This is an annual conference that runs through the weekend. It is an opportunity to meet Mayors and Council Members from the State of Texas. Also, it gives us the opportunity to attend continuing education as well as view potential cost saving products for the City.

12:30 - 2:00PM - Chaired meeting of Leadership Frisco in my role as president.
4:00 - 5:00PM - Met wtih new board member in my role as President of Frisco Association for the Arts.
5:00-5:45PM - Met with local art group.
6:00 - 7:30PM - attended receptio for Judge Greg Brewer.

8:00 - 9:30AM - Met with Donnie Nelson Jr. to visit about a company that is thinking of locating in Frisco.
4:00 - 6:00PM - Chaired a meeting of the Arts of Collin County in my capacity as Vice-President (president was not at meeting).

10:00 - 11:30AM - Reviewed software for Frisco Association for the Arts. 10:00 - 11:30AM - Met with a new board member of Frisco Association for the Arts in my capacity as President. 8:00 - 4:00PM (all day) - Held the Frisco City Council annual mid-year work session. This is a very hectic day where a lot of information is crammed into approx. 8 hours. Project updates are reviewed and the Cities priorities are also reviewed/adjusted as needed. 3:00 - 5:00PM - Met with member of the art community in at City Hall. 7:00 - 8:30AM - Met with City Official. 8:30 - 12:30PM Attended the Collin County Economic Summitt. 9:00 - 10:30AM - Met with board member of Frisco Association for the Arts. 7:15 - 8:30AM - Met with City of Frisco staff member. 7:00 - 9:00AM - Met with local CEO to discuss City of Frisco opportunities. 10:00 - 12:00AM - Attended State of the County Address for Collin. 9:00 - 10:30AM - Meet with a supported Art Group at the Frisco Association for the Arts office. Today is another very busy day and it feels like seconds from one event to another! 07:15 - 8:30AM - Meet with local Reporter. 6 - 8PM -- One of the biggest honors of my life. The Frisco Chamber of Commerce honored me with the Frisco Citizen of the Year award. It was a big surprise and very humbling. My entire family was there (how they pulled that off, I do not know!). For those that were in attendance, sorry about my incoherent rambling; I was truly shocked! While I was completely floored by the award, I know that I was recognized for something that many people in Frisco helped me achieve. In my mind; this award was given not to me, but to those around me. I’m thankful for the opportunity to work with so many good people.

11:00 - 1:00PM - Attend Hotel Association of Dallas Luncheon in downtown Dallas
6:00PM - 8:00PM - Attend TxDOT public meeting in The Colony regarding the Tolling of S.H. 121. As you all know, I oppose tolling S.H. 121 and have voted that way since day one. It seems to be an uphill battle. The focus of the State in on creating additional revenue is one-dimensional towards using tolls. It is not the answer and, in my opinion, a huge mistake that will not solve this States Highway needs. + 0 - 0 | § ¶January 23, 2006 - Monday

That same evening saw Ms. Ruth Borchardt receive the Centennial Award, first lady Sandy Simpson receive the Spirit of Frisco Award and Allison Miller receiving the Golden Eagle Award. Community Waste Disposal was named Corporate Business of the Year and FSpN was awarded the small business title.
Brig. General Michael Cates was awarded the Patriot Award and Janice Berg of Ebby Halliday received the Silver Citizen Award.
Again, I can’t say enough how much I appreciate being included in this group of outstanding community volunteers and citizens.
