01:30pm - 03:00pm -- Presented to the Sparks Elementary 5th graders regarding City Council. Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Matt Lafata also attended. It was exciting to see so many children interested in government. They had patterned their classes after local governments with a complete government structure. The children were so interested, they had many questions. So many, in fact, that we were not able to get to everyone in the 1.5 hours we had.

06:00 a.m. - 08:00 a.m. -- Wow, what an early morning. Grumpy getting up this early (5:00a.m.). All that went away pretty quick after being "touched' by this event. Many area organizations and churches get together to help children purchase clothes for school. Read more about it here. It's these things that make all this volunteer work worthwhile!

9:30am-11:00am -- Attended the homecoming parade on main street. I really enjoy this annual event. The fun part is throwing all that candy from the top of the firetruck and watching the childrens faces!

7:00pm - 8:00pm -- Welcomed many out of state seniors to Frisco for a softball association tournament. Over 1500 participants were involved. I was honored to throw out the first pitch and welcome this group to our City. Most of these seniors were war veterans and I enjoyed learning from them.
