Virus Warning
As best as I can tell,
this is a real virus that has been a problem lately. It is not being caught by
all anti-virus programs, so be extra cautious. I have checked this against snopes and other sources
(which you should always do before passing on information you receive in
e-mail).
The E-mail does not tell you who it is from, but the header "from"
field shows "hallmark@hallmark.com".
Warren, at The Computer Wizard,
reports that this is an especially nasty virus and you need to be really
careful. He says the subject is: "You have received a Hallmark
E-Card!" (exactly as it is in the quotes) There is a link to Hallmark in
the e-card, but the link is actually bogus and it points you to a web site "http://razor.zzz.net"
(I put the ZZZ in there. I did not want anyone to inadvertently go there. The
actual zzz="halden"). Once there, it loads a file "postalcard.scr",
which is the actual virus.
Please be careful and thanks for the heads up
Warren!
National Night Out is tonight
Please be very careful when you are driving our neighborhoods tonight. Our community will have over 100 block parties that are being held as part of the National Night Out fight against crime. Slow down and watch for playing children (and adults for that matter :-) ). Better yet, park your car and join your local neighborhood party and get to know your neighbors. By being part of Frisco's eyes and ears, you are taking a bite out of crime.
For a REALLY COOL MAP, check HERE to see Frisco's GIS map with all the registered block parties. Way to go to the Frisco GIS department! The Zoom feature should work, so find a party near you!
Have a very safe and enjoyable evening!
Sincerely,
Maher Maso
