IMPORTANT TRAFFIC ADVISORY
[LAST UPDATE: SERVICE ROADS ARE NOW OPEN. RUSH-HOUR TRAFFIC SHOULD BE FINE. CLEAN-UP IS ONGOING.]
I do not have the complete details and a press release may be forthcoming from Plano, but it looks like a gasoline tanker with about 8000 gallons of product was involved in an incident at DNT and 121 late last night. At this point, it looks like DNT and SH 121 main lanes will be open and Service Roads at the intersection will be closed. They may not re-open in time for rush hour Friday morning. While this accident and spill originated in Plano, Frisco engineering, public works and Police and other staff are also on the scene with Plano personnel.
The driver was transported to the hospital. Considerable product has been spilled and Hazmat response is being handled by Plano and Frisco. They will be on site for several hours as this looks like a major spill. There has been no loss of life that I am aware of and no fire.
It may be wise to avoid this intersection. Again, it looks like the main lanes (both overpasses) are open, but service roads are closed. Further press releases may come from Plano.
Have a safe Friday commute and a great weekend!
