Warrant List
The Collin County Sheriff's Office is now posting a searchable list of
more than 35,000 active warrants on the county's web page. The list covers
active arrest warrants from Class-C misdemeanors to First-degree felonies, and
includes fine amounts, bond amounts and the name, physical description and the
last known address of an offender. The web page also has instructions posted on
how those on the list can pay off late fines and fees, plus ways to alert
authorities on where to find those being sought.
The Active Warrants List includes
offenses from fishing without a license to unpaid traffic tickets to burglary
and other felony crimes that have been committed in Collin County.
Late last year, the Collin County Sheriff's Office began posting the county jail's Current
Inmate List online as well. Both can
be reached from the Sheriff's Office section of the website.

up-to-the-minute critical information."

Happy Easter! I hope everyone has a very safe and joyous
Ea ster Holiday. The coming of Spring is a time that I really enjoy. Seeing the children playing in their front yards after school is something that Frisco is all about. Just remember, please be careful while driving through neighborhoods and watch your speed.
First and foremost, I want to correct an error in the last newsletter. I mentioned one of the candidates running for City Council twice and left out another candidate from the list of those running. Thanks to all those that caught my mistake and apologies are in order to David Prince for excluding him from the list. Here is the list again and the candidate web sites.

You can find additional election information, polling locations, early voting days and times all on the City of Frisco Voting Information Page.For those that are using my Calendar, I have made some modifications to make it more user friendly. I have turned on the ability for anyone to enter their own calendar events. If you are part of an organization that has a function or event coming up, feel free to enter it. It will not display right away as all new items must be approved before being made public. This calendar is a community calendar and not for business or private usage. You can find the calendar HERE on my web site or directly on the calendar web site. Both sites allow modifications. To keep the newsletter from getting too large, I am reducing the number of repeat articles and simply moving them to the calendar.Also, in the links section, I have added several other calendars in and around our community. This will help our local groups and residents find events since there is so much going on. If you know of a calendar that I need to add to my list, just let me know. I learned that Frisco Neighbors can now be found in any local Starbucks, so those of you (like me) that enjoy reading it can now pick it up with your morning coffee! The tolling of S.H. 121 is still a very hot issue both locally and at the State Level. You can keep up-to-date by visiting some of the links I put in the last newsletter. Corridor Watch is updated regularly, so you can find some of the latest action there. You can also subscribe to their e-mail list which always contains current information. I encourage you to contact our Senators and House Members to support these bills. The only representative that I am aware of that has not gotten behind the effort to put a stop to the CDA's is State RepresentativeKen Paxton. While I appreciate all the hard work that Representative Paxton has done for our area, I can't understand why he has not gotten behind this bill that a majority of the Senate and House has supported. Please contact Representative Paxton and let him know of your views on this subject. You can see the scorecard of who has gotten on board here (this is an up-to-date list).
By now, you have probably received an automated phone call from our Police Department. This is our PD being proactive in informing our citizens about the rise in auto burglaries. If you will simply follow these guidelines (PDF), you will create a safer environment for all of us. Please keep your eyes open and if you see anything suspicious, do your part by calling 911. If you have not heard yet, our very own Texas Tornado hockey team has again made the playoffs (yes, again!!). Please support our champion local team by attending one of the games. The series between the Tornado and Sante Fe is tied at 1-1 with games 3 and 4 being played in Frisco. Let's see if we can support our team to win the cup for 4th time!
Yes, we are still under Stage 3 Water restrictions. While we received much-needed rain, the lake levels are still below normal. From time to time, I get the question "are the restrictions working?" The answer is yes. Since the implementation of Stage 3 on June 1, 2006, residents have saved approximately 1.6 Billion gallons of water through December of 2006 from what our projected usage was without restrictions. Please continue to use water wisely. You can continue to report water waste and abuse of the water restrictions anonymously. I am really excited about Fair in the Square! Make sure you read the article below for something very unique and fun for the entire family. I hope to see you out there!

Fair in the Square
Coming to you by the same great team that brought us "Christmas in the Square", join Frisco Square with a great spring festival "Fair in the Square".
A fun, Safe, Wholesome atmosphere filled with Rides, Food, Games and Attractions for the entire family. Fair in the Square will be held at Frisco Square (Main Street and Coleman Boulevard just East of the Dallas North Tollway).  The entire week will be filled with events for the kids and adults alike.

The fair is operated by the same fair operator who provides rides at The State Fair of Texas and The Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo! ADMISSION IS FREE Ride tickets are $1 each or 24 for $20 (most rides are 2 or more tickets). Midway games and food must be purchased with cash only. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Frisco Education Foundation.
Look in your childs elementary school take home folder for coupons.
Also, MOVIES ON THE SQUARE will begin on June 1st. Every Friday night from June 1 through August 10, 2007, bring your lawn chair and blankets and enjoy an outdoor movie for the entire family. Just like the Movies on the Square last Christmas, except warmer! If you kids have never experienced a drive-in movie, this is the next best thing.

Ohio -- An Overpass will be constructed for northbound and southbound Ohio. This intersection was closed April 24, 2006. TxDOT anticipates having the Ohio Overpass complete October 2007.
Preston -- All lanes are open

Legacy -- This intersection is estimated to be complete April 2007.
Spring Creek -- This intersection is estimated to be complete April 2007.
Service Roads -- The new service roads to Dallas North Tollway are open to traffic

City Council Elections
As many of you are aware, I have served on the Frisco City Council since 2000. My term ends in May of this year and I am at term limits. Council Member Bob Allen is also at term limits at the same time. This May, you will be electing two new Council Members.
Application deadlines have passed and you will voting to elect one of the following individuals:

Early voting begins April 30 -May 8. Voters may cast early ballots at Frisco Fire Station #4, 4485 Cotton Gin; Preston Ridge Campus, Collin County Community College, 9700 Wade Blvd.; and the Collin County Elections Office, 2010 Red Bud Blvd., Suite 102, in McKinney.
Early voting hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m - 5 p.m. Extended early voting hours are May 3 from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. and May 7 & 8 from 7 a.m. -7 p.m.
The General Election will be held Saturday, May 12 from 7 a.m.- 7 p.m. In an effort to provide voter convenience and encourage higher voter turnout, the City of Frisco will continue to offer three polling locations. Voters must cast ballots at their designated polling place.
Voters are encouraged to bring their voter registration cards.

Frisco Fun Activity Guide
The newest issue of the Frisco Fun Activity Guide is now available. The summer brochure is available online at www.FriscoFun.org or for pick-up at the Alumni Hall Fitness Center, located at 9700 Wade Boulevard, the George A. Purefoy Municipal Complex, located at 6101 Frisco Square Boulevard and at the Parks & Recreation Administration Building, located at 6726 Walnut Street. The Frisco Fun Activity Guide contains information about summer recreation classes for both children and adults, as well as information about upcoming special events sponsored by the Parks & Recreation Department. This issue features many ways to help you and your family stay busy and have fun this summer including, indoor and outdoor aquatic classes, music, art and dance classes, adult athletic leagues, and new adult fitness classes including Cardio Core, Turbokick, and Fitness Pi-Yo. In this issue you will also find a variety of camps for kids to enjoy during the upcoming summer months. Mail-in registration begins immediately and with walk-in registration beginning Saturday, April 28, at the Alumni Hall Fitness Center from 8:00a.m. - 3:00p.m. Classes have limited space and registration cut-off dates specific to each class, so be sure to register early.  Relay For LifeŽ is a fun-filled overnight event designed to bring together those who have been touched by cancer in our community.
At the event, we celebrate survivorship and raise money to help the American Cancer Society in its mission to save lives, help those who have been touched by cancer, and empower individuals to fight back. During the event, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds, or parks and take turns walking or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times.
But, Relay is much more than a walk around a track. It is a time to remember those lost to cancer and celebrate those who have survived. It is a night for people who have shared the same experience to comfort and console one another. During this event, we honor survivors during the Survivors Lap and we remember those we lost to cancer during the Luminaria Ceremony. We also celebrate life, friendship, and a chance to work together toward a cancer-free future.
 Most importantly, Relay gives you the power to help in the fight against cancer. By joining together as volunteers and donors, our efforts help the American Cancer Society strive toward a future where cancer doesn't take the lives of our friends and family.

FCA Annual Golf Tournament
Once again, it is time for the FCA Annual
Charity Golf Tournament (PDF).
Our golf tournament will be on June 25, 2007, at the
Tribute in The Colony. We will have an 8:00am, and 1:00pm shotgun start, with a
4 player scramble format. The tournament fee will be $125.00 per person. This
fee includes a $25 gift card from PGA Tour Superstore, golf shirt, sleeve of
balls, golf bag identification tag, goodie bag, cart fee, green fee, pairings,
refreshments, and lunch. Also there will be a Hole-in-one contest, Closest to
the Pin and Longest Drive Contest, and a silent Auction. Help support the Frisco Area Fellowship of Christian Athletes and all that they do four our young athletes.

The City of Frisco's February Homebuyer workshop will be held on
Saturday, April 21, 2007 from 9 AM to 5 PM at Frisco City
Hall, 6101 Frisco
Square Blvd in Frisco, TX. This program is provided free of charge and is sponsored by the City of Frisco,
the City of McKinney and Consumer Credit Counseling Service and meets the 8-hour
HUD Homebuyer Training requirement. Participants will also learn more about the

Frisco Community Band
The Frisco Community Band will be performing its annual spring concert
on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 in the courtyard of Centennial High School,
6901 Coit Road in Frisco. The
concert, which will begin at 7:00 p.m., will include performances from the
concert band, the jazz band as well as other ensemble music. Bring your lawn
chairs and some snacks, relax and enjoy some great music! In case of inclement
weather, the concert will be moved into the auditorium of Centennial High School.
The concert will contain a
variety of exciting literature, including music from Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, Elsa's Procession to the
Cathedral, and the ever-popular Stars & Stripes Forever. As an
added treat, a portion of the concert will include senior band members in the Frisco School
District.
It will be an enjoyable evening with some great music!
The Frisco Community Band was
formed in the spring of 2004 as a non-profit, all volunteer organization
benefiting the City of Frisco
and its neighboring communities. The band provides local musicians with the
opportunity to expand or continue their experience in the performing arts with
the ultimate purpose of making live, symphonic, jazz and ensemble music
accessible to all segments of the community.
The Frisco Community Band is
funded by grants from the Frisco Association of the Arts, Target, as well as
donations and member dues. The Frisco Community Band is comprised of the
Concert Band, Jazz Band, and also includes various instrumental ensembles. All
area musicians that have at least high school experience are welcome to join.
No auditions are required for the concert band, and all performances are free
to the public.

Mayor's Golf Classic
The annual Mayor's Golf Classic
benefiting Frisco Family Services Center is set to be held on Monday May 7,
2007 at Stonebriar Country Club. We are pleased to announce that Baylor Medical Center at Frisco is our title sponsor
again this year.
Players of all skill levels are
welcome to join Mayor Mike Simpson and other community leaders for an exciting
day of golf while helping those in need. This four person scramble offers
participants an array of prizes including top three teams, longest drive,
closest to the pin, putting challenge and the opportunity to win a vehicle on a
hole in one. Players will have the opportunity to choose to play in a morning or
afternoon tournament followed by an awards banquet and the opportunity to bid on
fabulous auction items. There are many opportunities to get involved with this
tournament. Frisco Family
Services Center is currently looking for sponsors,
players, auction and goodie bag donations. The cost for an individual player is
$200 and includes breakfast/lunch or lunch/dinner, player gifts and more. For
those who aren't golfers, but would still like to participate, they can showcase
their business by sponsoring a hole at the tournament.
New this year is a Mayor's Golf Classic Raffle. We encourage
everyone to purchase a ticket for only $10 for a chance to win a trip to
San Jose del Cabo, Mexico and stay in a luxurious 2
bedroom penthouse condominium with airfare for 2, a widescreen flat panel HD LCD
television, a $250 Visa gift card or an I-Pod shuffle. Winner need not be
