WHEREAS, Frisco Women’s League (FWL) was established in 2002 and is a not for profit organization dedicated to supporting and enriching Frisco and its neighboring communities; and
WHEREAS, Frisco Women’s League’s mission is to promote community service & enhance the quality of life in the City of Frisco and surrounding areas; to support activities, programs, and projects which aid civic, cultural and educational development in our community; and to assist the community through volunteerism, fundraisers and community projects; and
WHEREAS, Frisco Women’s League has over 170 members in Frisco and the policy of FWL is that no person, on the basis of race, sex, color, religion, national origin or ancestry, age or handicap shall be discriminated against in our activities, programs, membership or leadership opportunities; and
WHEREAS, Frisco Women’s League has volunteered their time to Clothe-A-Child, Heroes for Children 5K Run, Easter Eggstravaganza, Frisco Family Services, Cookies for Heroes, Freedom Fest and many other City of Frisco events; and
WHEREAS, Frisco Women’s League has raised money through their signature events-the Mother & Daughter Tea and Merry Market Place to donate to such charities as Hope Park, City House and Frisco Cares; and
WHEREAS, Frisco Women’s League celebrates 10 years of service to our community and have helped many throughout our community during that time.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Maher Maso, Mayor of the City of Frisco, Texas, do herby proclaim October 2012 as:
“FRISCO WOMEN’S LEAGUE MONTH”
And urge all citizens to congratulate these women on all they do to help our community.
